Involved in the ESA-funded project “THERMOPOLIS”, assisting  with the processing of different types of satellite data for deriving spatially distributed maps of parameters characterising urbanisation and urban heat island for the region of Athens, Greece.

Research Fellow, Department of Environmental Management, Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Crete, Greece. Involved in a project funded by the National Statistical Agency of Greece. Tasks involved included performing a comparative analysis of techniques for land cover/land use mapping from multispectral satellite data for a Mediterranean region.

Research Fellow, Department of Environmental Management, Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Crete, Greece. Involved in a project funded by the Hellenic Aid, focusing on the development of a spectral library of vegetation species in the Mediterranean region.

Worked in the post-fire assessment based on the analysis of remote sensing observations and in the evaluation of remote sensing derived fire products. Also participated in the EU-funded project IMECC ("Infrastructure for Measurements of the European Carbon Cycle").

External scientific collaborator, Department of Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece. Worked in a project focusing in the evaluation of the burning using multispectral remote sensing imagery of a fire occurred near Athens in 2007. Project funded by the Prefecture of East Attica, Greece.
